Feature: Journey Well Health and Wellness
Everyone deserves to feel their best. Sometimes in order to feel our best, we need a guide to walk alongside us on that journey. The challenge is that finding the right guide for what we need is hard.
Luckily, that’s where Laura Glenney and Journey Well Health and Wellness in Woodstock, ON comes in. Simply put, she and her team walk alongside their clients on their journey to living well.
Almost ten years ago, Laura Glenney, who is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and the Clinical Director and Founder of Journey Well Health & Wellness, started a solo private practice that has grown to include an incredible community of mental health service providers.
After getting to know Laura, I knew I wanted to share her and Journey Well with my community. She took the time out of her busy schedule to sit down and chat with me about her practice. I could have talked all day with her!

Affordable Mental Health Care Services in Woodstock, ON
One of the things that we are acutely aware of is that we charge for our services by being in private group practice. The challenge with this is that it lends to the idea that mental health is a luxury item that you have to be able to pay for. We never want a client to not receive care because of the cost.
That’s why we created our Affordable Therapy Program. Clients who qualify for this receive care from a mentored Therapist Intern and pay a sliding scale based on income. Your Therapist Intern will work with you to assess concerns, determine goals, and create a treatment plan to guide your therapy services.
Finding the Perfect Fit
One obstacle our clients face is finding the right fit for their health and wellness needs. Some clients worry about how they’ll be able to work with the right provider for them and what happens if they need to switch providers.
1. You Choose a Provider - Clients are welcome to view our website and look through the providers listed on our website. Each provider page lists their specialties and who they help. You can reach out directly to that provider or reach out on our website.
2. Reach Out and We’ll Choose - If you’re just not sure, please feel free to contact us on our website or by emailing info@journeywell.ca to share what type of support you’re looking for and we can make a recommendation.
We hope it’s a great fit right away and clients receive the care they need. However, if it doesn’t happen, we encourage clients to share that feedback with us. By providing feedback, the provider can make tweaks to see if those help. If not, our team is open to switching providers with no judgment.
The truth is that you won't know if the therapist is a fit until you try them on. Think about it when you’re shopping for the right pair of shoes. You have to try them on before you find the right one. Therapy is way more vulnerable than trying on shoes. And I always give people a lot of credit when they say, well, I've been for therapy before, but it didn't work out very well, so I'm trying something else. Kudos to you for trying something else because that's hard.
Our goal at Journey Well is to get you to the right person.
What is Journey Well Health and Wellness’s Vision
We plan on growing our practice in three important ways: adding more providers to our team, growing our group offerings, and breaking the financial barrier for everyone to access mental health care.
Through the last few years, we’ve seen the need for mental health care skyrocket. We have twelve providers on our team, and most of them have a waitlist, so we know that demand is high. We plan on adding more therapists and other types of healthcare providers as soon as we can.
We plan different group offerings each season to create programs to serve the community. For example, we’re looking to host a book club this winter.
Finally, our team hopes to provide additional financial support to help more folks access mental health care. In the meantime, we will continue to host therapist interns who can provide low cost therapy services. We are open to conversations about partnering and looking at ways to reduce the financial burden.
