I’m a mom of two big kids, so I look back on their first years of life with a sweet fondness. It’s also a bit of a blur, to be honest. If I didn’t have photos, I swear I would have a difficult time remembering everything. Yes, there were sleepless nights and circles on circles under my eyes, but I’ll never forget the best newborn snuggles. 

As a Woodstock newborn photographer, I’ve been honoured to document many families newborn portraits. I decided to create the First Year Collective to create an option for families wanting to document each precious milestone throughout their child’s first year of life. 

I’d love to explain what The First Year Collective is and why it’s so important to me that I offer this.

What is the First Year Collective?

In a nutshell, The First Year Collective is a collection of photography sessions scheduled over the course of your baby’s first year. You book once and rest easy knowing your baby’s key milestones will be professionally documented with my full-service portrait experience. 

Families choose a combination of three or four signature sessions within their baby’s first year and lock in their membership. The beauty of the First Year Collective is that you get professional portrait sessions for each of these precious milestones, along with other tangible benefits.

Create a Cohesive Look - During our session planning, we’ll work together to think about how we want to display these beautiful portraits. Moms in the Photos - As a mom myself, I know how you might not feel “ready” to be in the photos with your baby. It’s so important to me that I include moms in each portrait session with their babies. It’s really such a nice way to ensure you’re in the photographs, too. My process cares for mom with wardrobe, professional hair and makeup, and a stress-free experience for your entire family. Just come to the studio, and let’s create wonderful memories.

Documents Precious Memories - As moms, It often falls on us to document everything about our baby’s first year. It can pull us out of the moment when we feel the pressure to always have our phone or camera ready to snap every precious moment. The First Year Collective allows me to take that job on for you. I love that families essentially get a “baby book” without all the stress of creating one.

Stress-Free Sessions - Inside the warm, clean Woodstock studio, everything is done quickly and easily without any hassle or strain, from the initial session experience to hanging your portraits on the wall. If you want wall art, we can plan for the future so you end up with something beautiful in your home that you can hold onto forever. In fact, I love it when dads and older children end up having a great time and ask when they get to come back! That’s when I know I’m doing my job right.

My full-service photography process is to turn each little moment into heirloom artwork. After each session, I take care of creating the artwork for you. It’s one major task off your plate and onto mine. Imagine being able to hold your baby’s album in your hands and relive each moment with each page turn, all without having to do any of the work yourself!
